It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Club Rotarian Geoff Stimpson. Geoff had been with us since 1994 and was twice president - in 1998/99 and 2008/09.
He was also awarded a Paul Harris Rotary Fellowship by the club in 2005 for his service to the community, one of Rotary's most prestigious honours. Geoff served on several committees during his Rotary career and presided over many.
Geoff spent most of his working life with the Metropolitan police and rose to a senior rank.He was always very active locally and was chairman ,and later president of, the Woodford Conservatives as well as chairman of the Woodford Green Amenity Group.
Geoff will be sorely missed for his wonderful wit and sense of humour. At many a meeting he would have us in stitches and was one of the best raconteurs we had ever heard. A very hard act to follow.
Our condolences go to wife Nadia and to Geoff's two sons Robert and Neil from his first marriage to Anne who sadly predeceased him.
