Click on read more for full item. Ron Burton, one of the club's longest serving members, passed away unexpectedly at the end of December.
Ron joined the club in 1999, and was President in 2004/05 then becoming Club Secretary, a role he fullfilled for a number of years. He then took on the role of arranging speakers for the club's meetings and checking on members' welfare.
He was always ready with an amusing anecdote or joke.
Ron was also a talented clarinettist and saxophonist (about which he was most modest) performing the club's Memory Cafe and writing and performing musical tributes to outgoing Club Presidents. 
For 20 years he was part of the Rotary Fellowship of Musicians and was often invited to play background music at District Events.
