On the 9th May the club lost one of its most supportive and influential members. John had been with the club since 1974 and had twice been president as well as being awarded the prestigious Paul Harris fellowship.John was also our lead member for International relationships and had served on many other committees during his time with us.

Outside of Rotary John was also active as Governor of Whitefield School in Walthamstow and was generous to many others with his time,advice and kindly disposition.

John had fought cancer for over forty years with tremendous dignity,fortitude and courage. Not once was he heard to complain and his thoughts were always for others before himself. A true gentleman.

Our club owes a great deal of gratitude to John and he will be sorely missed. Our deepest thoughts are with his wife, Carol and sons Nigel and Al.
